Jack A. Brown Arizona District 5

Sharing Your Values -  Fighting for Our Future

It has been my honor to serve you in the Arizona State Legislature. As you know, during my service, I have accomplished -- with your input -- many positive things for our district. One example is the funding for the establishment of Northland Pioneer College in Payson, resulting from the work of the late Senator A.V. Hardt and me. Over the past few years, through the combined efforts of the late Senator Jake Flake, Representative Bill Konopnicki, and me, more funding was directed to that campus. It is never as much as we need or want; however, being able to get any funding as opposed to no funding is a step forward. Northland Pioneer College now has strong campus presence serving Apache and Navajo counties. I continue working to secure the expansion of Eastern Arizona College and I have worked for this college since the inception of EAC.

Rural recreation in ArizonaWorking on private property rights, health care issues, education funding, and healthy forests are just some of the battles that take an experienced representative working for you. I have remained a strong advocate for our state park system. Even in difficult budget years, we must do what we can to keep the parks operating.

Also, I was significantly instrumental in economic development by bringing well-paying jobs to the district. I have personally worked on the development and expansion of the Tucson Electric and SRP Electric power plants in the district, as well as the state prisons in Gila, Graham, Navajo and Apache Counties.

Upcoming Challenges -  Fighting for Our Future

Arizona and U.S. flagsThe State of Arizona joins the United States in facing difficult economic times.  Unfortunately, rural Arizona communities sometimes face a stronger negative impact overall. We don't have the huge tax base that larger counties and cities might have. The rise in oil prices not only impacts the tangible costs of food, transportation, home heating, and clothing, but our quality of life also faces major changes.

You deserve a strong legislative voice representing your welfare -- now and in the future. We must not send people to the legislature who are unwilling to make any compromise or cross party lines, even if it means that compromise is for the betterment of their constituents. Legislators must put the well-being of their district and constituency above their own agenda or personal preferences.

Our rural lifestyle and family values must be protected and my reputation as a person with extensive experience and integrity will continue to bring needed results for our district -- and all of Arizona. I have established an excellent working relationship on "both sides of the aisle," as well as with local and state government officials and the Arizona Congressional delegation. We must continue working -- even if by taking just one step at a time -- for better education, quality health care, and jobs that will pay enough to support you and your family -- leaving you something left over for the future!

Each small step can take us on a positive journey for a better future. Please allow rural Arizona's voice to be heard. Your vote for me is your voice being given fair representation with positive results.

Thank you for this opportunity. Please register and VOTE!
